Seasonal Rules & Regulations

In an effort to provide our campers with a safe and enjoyable stay at Ontario Shores, we have instituted these rules. They are not meant to be restrictive but will ensure that everyone has a pleasant camping experience. Please remember if in doubt about anything, check with the office.

GENERAL

  • Only one family is allowed at the campsite. Family is defined as 2 adults and their unmarried children, 25 and under, who are still living at home.
  • There may be circumstances that do not fit this precise definition and the management will work with anyone on a case-by-case basis to resolve a special situation.
  • Management reserves the right to evict, without prior notice, anyone who fails to obey posted signs, these rules or who, in our opinion, is creating a disturbance or being a nuisance. No refund.
  • Management assumes no responsibility for property loss, damage, theft, and break-ins.
  • Ontario Shores does not provide refunds for personal circumstances or natural disasters.
  • Please have your site number visible to the public. In cases of emergency, please dial 911 and then call the main office so we can lead emergency personnel to your site.
  • Each lessee is asked to have an emergency contact number with the main office. Please provide a name and number for someone who is not listed on your lease that we can notify in an emergency situation.
  • If you notify the office prior to January 1st (of the following lease year) of your decision to leave – your camper must be removed from your site immediately to receive $250 of your deposit back. Subsequently, all tenants who decide to leave after January 1st, will not receive ANY refunds back including on any payments that have been paid towards your seasonal fees.

 

CHILDREN

  • Children of any age are not permitted to use their family campsite when the lease is absent.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for the actions of their children.
  • Children who do not follow the rules, or who, in the opinion of management, are a bad influence on other children will be banned from all common recreation areas in the park and will face possible eviction.
  • Every child under 9 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Playground hours are 9am – Dusk. The playground and resort facilities are to be used at your own risk.
  • Bicycles, hoverboards, and/or non-motorized scooters are not allowed to be operated after dark.
  • All minors under the age of 18 must be at their site no later than 10:00PM. Any child seen out after curfew will receive a warning. 3 warnings will always result in parental supervision.

 

VEHICLES

  • All vehicles must be registered with the office prior to your gate card activation.
  • No parking is permitted at any campsite other than your own. This includes all visitors and guests. It is the responsibility of the undersigned to inform every and all guests of this policy. No parking of vehicles is permitted at any time on the roadways.
  • Each person assigned a gate card is required to also have proper parking permits (you will receive them at the start of the season). If you are a three-vehicle household, please note that only two cars can be parked at your site at the same time. The remaining vehicles will have to park in guest parking.
  • Boats and recreational trailers are not to be parked on site long-term. Please Park in designated areas. If you need to park your boat temporarily at your site for maintenance purposes, please get prior approval.
  • Unlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate any motor vehicle on the property. Use of non-licensed motorized vehicles on the property is strictly prohibited including golf-carts, mini-bikes, riding lawn mowers, mopeds, etc.
  • Motorcycles, please drive to and from your campsite.
  • Electric powered bicycles are permitted only during daylight hours. Anyone under 18 must be wearing a helmet and accompanied by an adult while operating. All traffic signs and speed limit rules must be abided by.
  • The speed limit of 5mph is strictly enforced and must be observed at all times. Any violators caught by a staff member will have their gate card temporarily deactivated. 3 offenses and the gate card will be deactivated permanently.
  • All vehicles must abide by roadway signs – including speed bumps. Driving around, and through people’s sites to avoid speed bumps is strictly prohibited.

 

TRASH

  • Please bring all garbage and recyclables to the dumpsters and observe all posted rules.
  • Please do not put plastic bags in the recycling bins.
  • Bag all leaves or cooled ashes and place them in a bag in front of your site and notify the office so we can pick them up.
  • Ashes are not to be put in dumpsters. Please place cooled ashes in a bag by the front of your site and notify the office to have them picked up.

 

FIREPLACES

  • No burning of pallets, furniture, or plastic.
  • Do not dump any waste into fireplaces.
  • All fires must be in fireplaces (store bought, or ring & garden stone preferred).
  • No cooking oil, gas, diesel, or any other accelerants. Only use store bought fire starters (lighter fluid, etc).
  • Fireplaces and their placement need to be approved by management.
  • All wood is to be neatly stacked.
  • Do not dump any waste into the fireplace.
  • Glass bottles and fireplaces are not allowed on the Beach.

 

ELECTRIC

  • Each site has its own electric meter. A one-time $150 electric fee is charged for all new leases. With your departure this electric fee will be used to cover your final bill and the remainder of it will be returned to you.
  • Meters will be read and billed on a monthly basis. You will receive notification when the charges are posted to your account.
  • Bills must be paid within 30 days of billing, or the service will be terminated.
  • For your convenience a credit card may be left on your account for automatic payment.

 

WATER/SEPTIC

  • Please turn your water off when you leave the park for an extended period of time.
  • Please no disposing of feminine products or paper towels in the sewer system. Only septic friendly toilet paper.
  • RV washing is limited to 2 times per season, please not on holiday weekends.

 

PROPANE

  • Propane for primary tanks can be purchased at the office. All secondary tanks need to be installed through Glider Oil Co.
  • Please notify the office of any secondary tanks being placed. If you remove your RV in the winter, secondary tanks are not allowed to be installed.

 

SHEDS, PATIOS, DECKS, ETC

  • One detached store-bought screen room or gazebo per site (12×12 max) needs placement approval.
  • One store bought grill gazebo per site (5×8 max).
  • Storage sheds will be metal or heavy-duty plastic, no larger than 50sq. Ft in floor plan.
  • One shed allowed per site and needs to be on a pressure treated wood base. Shed placement to be approved by management.
  • No structures can be placed closer than 2 feet from the site lot line including gazebos, fireplaces, sheds, etc.
  • Patios and platforms must be made of weather resistant material (brick or treated lumber). Pallets or flake board are not allowed. Office approval is required. All concrete patios are to be installed by Ontario Shores.

 

LAWN MAINTENANCE

  • No operating of lawn maintenance equipment before 9:00am.
  • Management reserves the right (and its sole discretion) to maintain unsightly or overgrown campsites, to remedy potential hazards or defects, and to charge the site holder a suitable fee.
  • Lawns may be mowed and trimmed by management for a fee.

 

VISITORS

  • All visitors must register at the office before they enter the park.
  • All guests are required to have a car pass.
  • 15 free guest passes will be given upon full payment of rent. Each pass will admit 1 vehicle for 1 day (9:00am-9:00pm) or 1 overnight guest.
  • There is a maximum of 4 overnight adult guests per site per night that must stay in your RV.
  • Notify the office in advance if you plan on having a guest after office hours or a delivery anytime.
  • There will be charges for all guests on major holiday weekends, no guests pass allowed.
  • Seasonal campers will be held totally responsible for the actions of their guests.
  • Visitors may not bring pets into the campground.
  • Visitors will not be allowed into the park when the seasonal camper is not in the residence.
  • Visitors fee is $4.00 a day and $6.00 a night per adult.

 

ALTERATIONS

  • Any alterations to the site must have written approval by management prior to any work being done.
  • Site holders assume the responsibility for their maintenance and upkeep of their personal property as well as any damages resulting from acts or omissions of Ontario Shores Management.
  • Check with the office before you dig or drive stakes, cut tree limbs, and add any items to alter site.
  • After park inspection, management reserves the right to ask leases to remove, fix or repair anything that does not follow park rules or is deemed not in the best interest of the campground. Lessees will be given appropriate time to comply with the verbal or written request.
  • Existing structures cannot be moved, altered, added to, or enclosed without written approval.
  • RV skirting-only materials allowed are vinyl lattice or manufactured RV skirting. No wood, blocks, or bricks etc.
  • All patio covers and 3 season rooms have to be purchased by Ontario Shores and need to be installed by Ontario Shores or an authorized contractor.
  • Outdoor refrigerators or freezers of any size are not allowed.
  • Renting or subleasing of RV or site is not allowed. We are renting this space to you.
  • Due to privacy issues security cameras in an RV or anywhere on a site can only be pointed at 5 foot in front of your camper door. No cameras can be pointed in any other direction or area.
  • Tents are allowed on site with management’s permission. Tents are to be taken down when seasonal camper is not there.

 

PETS

  • We welcome pets in our park, however there is a limit of 2 dogs per site, unless there is written approval by management.
  • Pets must be kept on a leash, quiet, and always attended. Pet waste must be picked up immediately and disposed of properly in the provided receptacles.
  • Any pets brought onto the premises must be registered with the office (name, age, breed, updated copy of rabies vaccinations).
  • Visitors are not allowed to bring in pets.
  • Management reserves the right to remove or ban any pet from the park at their discretion.

 

NO OPEN-AIR POLICY

As operator of the Ontario Shores RV Resort property, we enforce the no-open air policy. The smoking of marijuana is NOT allowed in or around our public facilities. Which includes the pool, beach, playgrounds, basketball courts, pavilion, activity fields, recreation hall, garden, laundry, bathrooms, and rentals. What you do in your RV is your business. We are a family campground, which means we do not want it visible. No marijuana or paraphernalia is to be visible to the public.

 

BEACH & POOL

All of the below rules are in alignment with Oswego County Health Department and are strictly enforced at all times. Each site lease and all visitors of the site owners must sign a copy of this waiver provided by the office at registration. A lifeguard or other responsible person does not supervise the swimming facilities at Ontario Shores RV Park. In place of on-site supervision, this facility has established a series of safeguards to be followed by all guests. Please read the safety rules outlined below and located at the entrance of the facility. If you have any questions, we will be happy to discuss them with you. We are required to notify you of these rules, to ensure that water rescue equipment is at the pool or beachside and that the swimming area is maintained in a sanitary manner. If you notice any problem with the water quality or absence of water rescue equipment, please notify us at once. Safety is a joint responsibility. Your safety is important to us. Pool and Beach rules are posted and will be strictly enforced.

 

SWIMMING SAFETY RULES

  • Never swim alone; a minimum of (2) adults 18 years of age or older must be present whenever the swimming facilities are in use, with at least one adult on the pool deck or beachfront.
  • There is no substitute for adequate supervision. Children under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Non-swimmers are not allowed past the rope in the pool, regardless of whether they are wearing a swimming device or under adult supervision.
  • Don’t drink alcohol or swim. No food or drink allowed in the pool area.
  • No pets are allowed inside pool enclosure.
  • Only registered guests may use the swimming facilities.
  • In an emergency, notify the facility operator and contact help immediately. A free phone is located in the office; dial 911.
  • Strictly prohibited to urinate, discharge feces, vomit, or blow nose in swimming pool.
  • All infants and children are required to wear swim diapers, if not potty trained.
  • Absolutely no running, pushing, diving, or horseplay in the pool.
  • Only use this facility during posted hours of operation.

 

In addition to the above rules please acknowledge the following:

  • Please do not set off fireworks, or paper lanterns at the beach (or at any other location in the park).
  • Campfires at the beach are prohibited.
  • Please no glass bottles at the beach.
  • Fishing in the swimming area of our beach is not allowed. Fishing, swimming, and boating are not allowed at the pond.
  • All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian down at the beach, no exceptions.
  • Anyone caught on the beach after dark receives a warning, multiple warnings will result in a ban of the use of swimming facilities for the remainder of the season.

These rules and regulations are designed to encourage and promote a safe environment for our campers. Management has the right to add, remove, and updates rules as they see fit.

As time passes rules are subject to be added, deleted, and modified.
